Witchetty Grub

The witchetty grub is a term used for the larvae of several different moths.

They feed on wood, and sap from the roots of the witchetty bush and small cooba.  They are found about 60 cm below ground.

Their predators include insect-eating birds, and insect eating animals such as the bandicoot.
