Lawyer Cane

Lawyer cane, also known as Wait-a-while vine, is a a climbing palm that grows as a vine.

It is covered in small, sharp spines. Opposite each leaf is a stiff leafless stem which is about one to two metres in length with backward facing hooks which allow it to be a successful canopy climber.

This plant produced small fruit, and flowers. The young shoot is also edible.

It is eaten by humans, fruit eating birds and cassowaries.
