Atherton Oak
Habitat: rainforest usually about 700-1150m in altitude
Many debates were done on what genus this plant should be in, until it was finally placed in its monotypic genus. It is, however, closely related to the macadamia.
Ths plant is special in that differently shaped leaves could be found in a single plant.
It produces an edible nut, which is eaten by Musky Rat-kangaroos and native rats.
