Habitat: beside streams and in dense coastal and mountainous rainforests

Its seeds are eaten by humans. Birds and marsupials are attracted to the bright blue fruits that have a thin covering of flesh surrounding a seed that resembles a ‘brain’.The flowers are eaten by rainbow lorikeets and other nectar-feeding animals.
